Adv. S. Mancotywa

Adv S Mancotywa Adv Sonwabile Mancotywa is the Chairperson of the Strategy Development and Investment Committee and a Member of the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee.

Adv Mancotywa is currently studying towards a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He holds a Postgraduate qualification in Management Practice and an Advanced Management Programme from Rhodes and Witwatersrand Universities respectively, and an LLB and B Juris from the University of Transkei. Adv Mancotywa is an Admitted Advocate and a member of the National Bar Council of South Africa.

Adv Mancotywa has a significant amount of experience (26 years) combined, as a Strategist and worked in various capacities, particularly in the public service sector. Among the roles include working at the DTI as General Manager of liquor, gambling, and lottery affairs as well as being the first MEC for Sports and Culture in the Eastern Cape wherein, MEC for Development Planning as well as being the Chief Executive Officer at the National Heritage Council (NHC). His areas of speciality among others include Public law (more than 30 years) of experience meaning any case or litigation that involves interpretation of PFMA, MFMC, NT Regulations, generally all public sector litigations including labour matters, Civil matters all civil matters, Labour Matters, Customary law, Constitutional Litigations

He currently serves on various Boards in the Public sector including the Cross Border Road Transport Agency as the Chairperson, the Raymond Mhlaba Development Agency and the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency.
